In one of the most challenging mountain regions in the world.

In one of the most challenging mountain regions in the world, a group of missionaries is distributing copies of Steps to Christ in isolated Himalayan communities.

The work takes place in Rukum, one of the most remote areas of Nepal, set among the Himalayan mountains. Its villages are in hard-to-reach areas, where geography and limited infrastructure pose great challenges for those trying to reach their people.

Many of these communities can only be reached after traveling mountain roads, narrow trails and long distances on foot. During the rainy season, landslides can block the routes and make communication with these populations even harder.

Besides the physical challenges, there are cultural and religious barriers. About 96% of the region's population does not profess the Christian faith, and for many families contact with the biblical message remains limited.

In these circumstances, missionaries are bringing the book Steps to Christ to homes and rural communities, with the aim of putting within people's reach an invitation to know Jesus and study the Bible.

The distribution in Rukum is part of the effort to reach territories where geographic, social and cultural conditions have historically made it hard for the gospel to arrive. The project's participants point out that even in the most remote areas of the planet, God keeps opening opportunities for His message to be shared.
